Traffic Alert for Summer School at Baxter:
Cars/buses can enter Baxter from Shelby or Forest Hill Drive ( Red Points on the Map)
They will turn between the tennis courts and the pond and drop off students at the back door ( Purple Point on the map)
All vehicles will have to exit on Forest Hill Drive and take the Detour through the neighborhoods.

The Everman ISD Board of Trustees has approved the 2026–2027 Compensation Plan, reaffirming the district's commitment to attracting, retaining, and rewarding outstanding employees. The approved plan includes salary increases and enhanced compensation opportunities for all employee groups.
Highlights of the 2026–2027 Compensation Plan
Starting Teacher Salary Increased to $64,000
Teacher Retention Allotment
$4,000 for teachers with 3–4 years of experience
$8,000 for teachers with 5 or more years of experience
Retention allotment amounts are incorporated into teacher salaries
2% Midpoint Raise for Teachers (Step 20)
2% Midpoint Increase for All Other Staff Groups

Mrs. Terry-Dancer is no stranger to the Powell family. Having previously served as the campus assistant principal, she returns with a deep understanding of the school’s culture, systems, and the unique needs of its students, staff, and families.
"Throughout her career, Mrs. Terry-Dancer has demonstrated a passion for early childhood education and a steadfast commitment to ensuring every child receives a strong academic foundation. Her experience in instructional leadership, curriculum implementation, student achievement, teacher development, and school operations has prepared her well to continue supporting excellence at Powell. She understands that successful schools are built through strong instructional practices, effective operational systems, and meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families," said Dr. Felicia Donaldson, Superintendent.

Christy Chavez participated in the UIL StateSolo/Ensemble contest. With over 100,000 students participating in the Solo/Ensemble process, Christy was awarded an Outstanding Performer medal at the state level. Only 2% of the students who enter earn this honor. This achievement is truly a mark of musical excellence!!

The City of Everman is excited to share news on a very much need road project. Starting Monday morning, Tarrant County Precinct 1 crews will begin reconstruction of Shelby Rd from Forest Hill Drive to S. Race St. The project will be completed in phases. The roadway will remain open, but occasional closures to one lane with flaggers may occur. Please anticipate delays during this time. The project is expected to be complete early August.

Charles Baxter Junior High will hold a voluntary Fifth Quarter (summer learning opportunities) from June 17 - July 17 this summer. The summer school is FREE for all 1-8 grade Everman ISD students. The Fifth Quarter will be held on-site at the Charles Baxter Junior High Campus.
