As you may already be aware, on August 21, 2017, we are expecting a solar eclipse. According to the Solar Eclipse schedule produced by NASA, the partial solar eclipse will begin at 11:40 a.m., reach maximum partial eclipse at 1:10 p.m., and end at 2:39 p.m. for the DFW area.
Scientists have reported that looking directly into the sun without the proper eye protection could result in solar retinopathy (which can result in permanent eye damage). We will take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
Students will not be allowed outside during the eclipse event, nor will they be allowed to watch the event from windows. We will take every measure to ensure our students' well-being.
