Located on the E. Ray campus, The Young Everman Scholars program offers students a more challenging curriculum. Students in the program come from all five elementary campuses.
Each year students in Kindergarten through fourth grade, are nominated for Y.E.S. classes. All students are eligible for nomination and testing. Students may be nominated by teachers, parents, community members, or may nominate themselves. These students are tested by district personnel, then the scores are evaluated by the district admissions committee. Students meeting qualifications are then placed accordingly.
Qualifying students in first through fourth grade are bused to E. Ray Elementary one day per week for Y.E.S. class. On this day students work with their peers on enrichment activities that stress critical thinking, Socratic questioning and advanced levels of academics.
