Principal - Kimberly Little
Dear Souder Elementary School Families:
Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! My name is Kimberly Little, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Souder Elementary! I am originally from Louisiana, but my family and I moved to Texas in 2007. I am married to my husband, Antono, and have two children, both currently in college, and a granddaughter. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education, and a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration. Over the past 18 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, with twelve of those years in Everman ISD. I spent nine years at Everman High School as an English teacher, AVID teacher and AVID Coordinator, and then as the 12th Grade Assistant Principal. I also spent the last three years at Baxter Junior High School as the 8th Grade Assistant Principal.
I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. My goal is to ensure that all children are happy and safe, so that they are able to learn as much as they can each day.
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Souder Elementary by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, the use of data to drive instruction, and provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase ALL of the students' achievement.
Although COVID-19 is still upon us, this year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents, and community partners are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
