We completed our first six weeks of school!  Our staff and students are working hard each day! From the smiles and conversations as students arrive and seeing their engagement while they are in class, confirms that we have GREAT students and GREAT staff in EISD! 

 

I would like to thank you everyone for a successful end to the first six weeks.  As we begin our second six weeks of school, parents please remember that daily student attendance is critical to your child success at school. 

 

We have WONDERFUL things taking place throughout the district! We’re excited to celebrate Hommel Elementary’s  100^th birthday and our campuses are hosting Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations throughout the district.

 

I would like to thank our staff, students, parents and the entire EISD community for your support and help in ensuring safe learning environments. Please know that the safety and the well-being of our students and staff continues to be our number one priority.  If you see or hear something; say something!  Please contact your child’s school or the Student Services department regarding concerns you may have. As a reminder, we have an upcoming  district professional development day and district holiday in October.   October 7, 2022, is a staff development day (no school for students). October 10, 2022, is districtwide holiday, all campuses and facilities are closed that day.  State Fair tickets will be distributed to students on October 6, 2022.

Hello EISD Family,

 

We are off to a GREAT start to the 2022 – 2023 school year! It was great to see our students’ smiling faces on the first day of school. This school year, our focus is to continue to move beyond limits, erase gaps, and build upon the success of the previous school year.  I’m so proud of the work our campus leaders, staff, and students did on the state assessments last year. Each campus performed well, and several distinctions were earned. The district’s overall grade is an 87!   

In addition, safety is always at the forefront of the district, and we have implemented additional measures to help ensure the safety of our students and staff, such as adding additional school resource officers, adding door sensors, as well as campus security monitors at all of our elementary campuses.  Please remember safety is everyone’s responsibility, and it takes us working together to ensure the safety of everyone.  “If you see or hear something, say something.”  Anonymous reports can be made through CrimeStoppers (817-469-TIPS).

This year we will host “Breakfast With The Superintendent” at our campuses.  Dates and times will be shared soon; please join as your schedule allows.  In addition, we will have a virtual parent academy this year; our first course will be released on September 12, 2022!

The end of school is fast approaching! Parents, we will continue to solicit your support to ensure a positive finish to the end of the school year. Our students are excited about the summer break approaching; however, please support us as we continue to motivate students to stay engaged and focused. Over the next few weeks,  students will take the STAAR and EOC assessments. Please make sure that your child gets plenty of rest the night before testing and eat a good breakfast the day of testing. Our staff and students have worked hard preparing for the STAAR/EOC assessments, and I know that our students will do their very best! Please see the assessment schedule below:

Dear Everman ISD Family,
 
This semester is in full swing, and we have so much to be grateful for while at the same time recognizing the challenges that we face daily. Our staff is doing an amazing job meeting our students' academic and social-emotional learning needs in unprecedented times.

The hurdles we face daily are intense, but we will overcome them TOGETHER! As I visit campuses and have the opportunity to talk to students and staff, I am reminded of the importance of our vision, “One Goal…One Purpose…STUDENT SUCCESS”. Despite the pandemic, great things are happening in Everman ISD!

Although this semester has just begun, we have much to celebrate! One of the high school students, Bryan Herrera, has earned a paid internship with Watts Water. In addition, the district signed a partnership with Tarleton University, which will guarantee automation admission to the Top 25% of our high school graduates. Finally, a special thank you to our EISD Board of Trustees for their dedication and service to the district~ truly the Best School Board in the State of Texas!

As a reminder, our Race To Read reading challenge for elementary students and the Superintendent’s Book Choice of The Month Club for secondary students will begin January 31st!

I hope each of you had a safe and relaxing winter break!

 

Everman ISD is off to a great second semester, and we appreciate all of the support given to our staff and students.  We are excited to welcome our students back on January 5, 2021.

 

With COVID-19 cases on the rise, the district is closely monitoring local health conditions and remains committed to the well-being and safety of our students and staff. 

 

Below are steps you can take to help us mitigate and prevent the spread of COVID-19:

 

• Facemasks are strongly encouraged for all students, staff, and visitors at all district facilities.
• Screen your health and your child's health daily. If you or your child is experiencing symptoms, please stay home, notify your child's school, get tested, and stay home until results are received. 
• Strongly consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine for you and all eligible individuals in your home. Individuals (ages 5 and up) are now eligible for a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

 

As we move into a new semester, I would like to recognize and honor our Everman ISD Board of Trustees.  January is School Board appreciation month and without a shadow of a doubt, we have the best Board of Trustees in the State of Texas.  I am grateful for the leadership and support of each Trustee!

 

Also, I am pleased to announce that Christopher Rose has been appointed to serve as the interim principal for Everman Joe C. Bean High School starting January 24, 2022.  As some of you may know, Mr. Rose has served as the Assistant Principal for Everman High School since August 2019.  We are excited about the continuity in leadership that Mr. Rose will provide as the interim principal.  He is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure success for all students. 

 

I would also like to thank Dr. Layne for his service and leadership of Everman High School for the past 2 ½ years and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

 

Finally, I’m excited to share that the district will begin a reading challenge for all elementary students and a book of the month for secondary students this month.  I know our students will do a great job and accomplish their reading goals! 

 

As a reminder, our next COVID-19 vaccine clinic is January 13, 2022, in the Everman High School cafeteria, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.I’m looking forward to a great second semester as we continue Moving Beyond Limits!

In regards to the pandemic and other communicable diseases, please continue to screen your child each day for COVID-19 symptoms as well as symptoms for other communicable diseases such as the flu. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school.

 

 In addition, it takes all stakeholders working together as a team to meet the needs of our students and to ensure everyone’s safety.
