Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Katie Harbour and this is my 10th year at Townley Elementary. In the fall of 2000 I moved to Fort Worth from Kansas to attend TCU. I quickly joined The School of Education and began work on my Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education. I student taught in Everman at Hommel Elementary before accepting a position to teach 1st grade at E. Ray Elementary in the fall of 2004. While at E.Ray Elementary I taught three years of 1st grade and two years of Kindergarten. I moved to Townley Elementary in the fall of 2008 to teach Kindergarten. I stayed in Kindergarten for 4 years, taught First for 2 years and back to Kindergarten for one more year before moving upstairs for Second grade.
I have loved the past two years teaching Second Grade at Townley. I have learned so much about older kids and their learning needs. I love to find fun yet effective ways to best teach students. Independence and personal responsibility are important keys to success in Second Grade.
My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and enjoy following TCU athletics, especially football and baseball. We love living in Fort Worth and being involved in the community. I enjoy reading, making crafts, and watching movies when I’m not working on school work.
