E. Ray Principal Chosen for Harvard Program
E. Ray Elementary School principal Colette Kotula attended a Harvard Leadership Program last summer under the auspices of Raise Your Hand Texas. The program, titled "Leadership: An Evolving Vision," ran from July 6 through 12, and was attended by school leaders from the United States, China, Australia, and Europe.
Ms. Kotula went through an intensive application process prior to her selection. She and other attendees heard from internationally recognized educators at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She can now participate in the Raise Your Hand Texas Regional Leadership Collaborative, which connects alumni in regional groups to visit each other's campuses, share best practices, and work toward solutions of current problems in education.
Raise Your Hand Texas is a non-profit organization that advocates for public education in Texas. One of their core beliefs is that investment in school principals is key to excellent Texas schools. They covered all housing, transportation, and tuition fees for the principals.
Congratulations to Ms. Kotula for this honor, and thanks to her for representing Everman ISD!
